How political parties win major elections in India?

At last the Election Commission announced the election dates all over India. It shows the democracy is working like a well-oiled machine, at least in the work books. Why it took more than seven decades for India to crawl on the floor since independence. It was the time for a healthy democracy to stand up and run. Very few nations have ensured every citizen a shelter, food and employment along with healthcare, education and his all-round welfare and developments. A handful of nations in the planet are listed to be the most happiest nations in the world.

Every citizen of India knows that India is not the happiest nation in the world list of happy nations. Reason, the democracy was born out of eradication of colonialism of the British and was left with a select few who happened to be the VIPs of the struggle for independence. Millions copied and followed Gandhiji, because he talked what the millions understood. The so-called VIPs conveninetly evaded Gandhji when India constituted its first parliament and its ministers. The rest is a 70-year-old history.

The so called "leaders" of the political parties ignored the common man, and ignored their basic needs and rights to live healthier, learned and culutured. The common man becomes a 'VVIP' only on the election day when he goes to the polling booths. Most of his lifetime the common man remains a victim of the tantrums of the governing party. After all these long years, the situation still remains the same in Indian politics.

The social, economic and cultural life of India is amazingly varied and needs strong leaders to understand them and make everything work for the millions of people in India. The Congress party was a miserable failure as a strong single party. The older generation voted them into power reading their historical image than any talnet as leaders. Whoever wanted to be strong as a leader turned autocrat in that process, and made the party loose its grip on the citizen. Instead they invited the wrath of the polity. But to avoid a backlash in the elections they promised unattainable goals for their life.

The single-party gvoernance in India has been the result of an image the party created in the minds of Indian polity thourh the print and audio "media". When ever other any party won the elections like the Janatha Party, for example, their life was short-lived, as the party could not make the media brain-wash the minds of the polity.

Elections in Kerala

Kerala is not Karnataka or Tamil Nadu. It is not either any state up in the north. Most intelligent and common sensed people thrive in Kerala and abroad too. It is hard to fool one here. Every one wanted to be different to the Central Government and the party that rules the government in Delhi. It has been either the Congress or the Communist in Kerala since decades back. The psychology of the polity was not influenced by any media till now. No congress ministry nor the communist ministry could rule Kerala for long since two decaeds back.

Today Kerala voters, especially the gen-z polity, is influenced by digital media at their fingertips. The digital media helps them form their mindset for a future political ruling for the State. The younger voters seldom read newspapers and any articles about the achievements of any party, leave alone their election posters. If the Gen-Z needs a change for their better future, they must try the BJP, as they are new into the conventional electioneering in the State.

If the adage that "acquaintance breeds contempt" goes true, fielding old faces in the Congress party digs its own grave in the State in the coming elections. If the same is true again, the Communist ministry is also sinking in the murky waters of their 20 year long looting, theft, infrastructural sabotages, communal and social tantrums they made in the name of creating a "New Kerala". The Comrades believed the impossible would happen as promised by their Party and its Polit Bureau.

If both UDF or LDF come neck to neck in the coming elections, could BJP make the lotus bloom in the State? What happened in the Trivandrum corporation was sheer magic. The magic would not repeat again. So the answer is a positive NO. The Gen-z voters are not interested in who becomes the Chief Minister here. They are interested in employment opportunities, infrastructural comfort and a secure and healthy lifestyle. What mistake the UDF or LDF done in the past was they focussed only on the people who go to the polling stations on election days. The new generation voters may need a change this time. So there are chances for another surprise in the coming elections.

Our opinion is that BJP should announce the future CM for Kerala and fight the elections. Does it look weird? Then weird is the way the politicinas go about in elections. That is why Pinarayi Vijayan is still fighting to sit on his chair. Other qualified leaders to be a CM from the UDF have all vanished from the face of earth. That is why Congress party is not sure of its cadre both in Delhi and in the State. Let us hope for the best future for every citizen in the State.
